Page 1 of 2 Mesothelioma and Asbestos Lung Cancer
I am giving this tutorial, because I am trying to dispense some of my knowledge on the fact and figures of mesothelioma cases and what to expect, while at the same time getting some benefit from the community by giving up some site space for this topic. If there is anything anyone wants to add then feel free to contact us regarding this.
I have been trying clean up my site and bring in high paying word searchers to my site. There are several high paying words, but the two that hit me the most were mesothelioma attorneys and lung cancer.
For the attorneys, they seem to be targeting mesothelioma. If you are like I was then you had no idea what Mesothelioma was and who is the heck cares about it. Well lawyers do and they are cashing in on settlements from years of negligence back previous that is unfortunately starting to manifest itself in the form of lung cancer caused by workers being surrounded by this environment. I would like to include some pictures later but for now we will have to do with just text.
In the United States the mean settlement for a case was $1 million dollars, and for the case that went to trial it was near $6 million according to a study done by the RAND corporation. Not all asbestos related cases are concerning mesothelioma. The settlements are compensatory to the symptoms and ailments that a victim is suffering from. Such as a non-smoker with lung cancer versus a habitual smoker with only minor symptoms. All of this account to the FAIR act of 2005.
I happened to have spoken with someone personally concerning this situation who happened to have first hand family experience with this tragic situation. His father was working in a machinery plant and was constantly surrounded by asbestos. It was known at the time to cause lung problems, but the companies figured that it was going to cost too much to remove it in comparison to just working around it and accepting the occasional law suit. So as you can see, these greedy companies decided to cash in on the unfortunate health circumstances of the employees that just could not afford to leave. Executives sit and enjoy their yachting and double lattes while the people that got them to where they are, are stuck in a hospital bed suffering from life threatening mesothelioma.
With those reasons above, I think justice has delivered such large settlements to these victims. Of course there are some that just slip through the cracks, but there are others that really deserve this.
